of <h1>New Notification Empowers Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence Officers with Customs Authority Across India.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, has issued Notification No. 25/2022-Customs (N.T.), appointing officers of the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence as officers of customs with jurisdiction across India. The Principal Director General or Director General of Revenue Intelligence is designated with the powers of Principal Chief Commissioner or Chief Commissioner of Customs. Additionally, various officers such as Principal Additional Director Generals, Additional Directors, Joint Directors, Deputy Directors, and Assistant Directors are assigned customs powers corresponding to their roles. This notification supersedes previous notifications and is effective from its publication date in the Official Gazette.
