of <h1>Navajyoti Centre for Mentally Handicapped Project Approved for 3 More Years under Section 35AC of Income-tax Act</h1> The Central Government has specified the construction, equipment, and furnishing of the Navajyoti Centre for the Mentally Handicapped, along with a corpus fund for its operation by the Association for Advancement and Rehabilitation of Handicapped (AAROH) in New Delhi, as an eligible project under section 35AC of the Income-tax Act. Initially approved for three years starting in the 1996-1997 assessment year, and extended in 1999, the project is now approved for an additional three years from the 2002-2003 assessment year. The project has an estimated cost of 51 lakhs, including a corpus fund of 30 lakhs.
