India Updates PPE Export Policy: N95 Masks Now Restricted, Medical Coveralls Freely Exportable, Goggles Have Export Quota.
The Government of India has amended its export policy for Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and masks. Medical coveralls, including gowns and aprons, and all masks except N95/FFP2 types are now freely exportable. Medical goggles remain restricted with a monthly export quota of 20 lakh units. N95/FFP2 masks have shifted from prohibited to restricted status, with a monthly export quota of 50 lakh units. Nitrile/NBR gloves remain prohibited. This change updates the previous notification from July 28, 2020, and sets criteria for export licenses for N95/FFP2 masks to be detailed in a forthcoming Trade Notice.
