Under the new policy, these items are classified as 'Free' for export, but require a 'No Objection Certificate' from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). This amendment is detailed in Notification No. 11/2015-2020, dated June 12, 2020, issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. The policy change is reflected in Chapter 5 of the ITC (HS) Classification of Export and Import Items, specifically under the new entry at Serial No. 49A.
