India Bans Hydroxychloroquine Exports: Policy Change Revokes Previous Allowances, Effective Immediately Under Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20.
The Central Government has amended the export policy for Hydroxychloroquine under the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20, revoking previous allowances for its export. The amendment, effective immediately, deletes the provision permitting the export of Hydroxychloroquine and its formulations under specific conditions. Consequently, the export of Hydroxychloroquine, including from Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Export Oriented Units (EOUs), or against Advance Authorisation or full advance payment, is now entirely prohibited. This change is in response to Notification No. 54 dated 25.03.2020 and applies to all relevant ITCHS Codes.
