Initially notified in 2006, the project was extended in 2009 and 2012, with costs previously increased to Rs. 22.71 crore. The project is now extended for an additional three years starting from the financial year 2015-16, with the project cost amended to Rs. 23.85 crore, maintaining a corpus fund of Rs. 15 crore. This decision follows recommendations from the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
