<h1>Finance Ministry Appoints New Adjudicating Authorities Under FEMA 1999; Outlines Monetary Limits for Enforcement Officers.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has appointed adjudicating authorities under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, to conduct inquiries for adjudication as per section 13 of the Act. This notification, dated September 27, 2018, supersedes a previous notification from September 30, 2014. It specifies the officers from the Directorate of Enforcement designated as adjudicating authorities, along with the monetary limits for cases they will handle. The Director, Principal Special Director, and Special Director of Enforcement will manage cases exceeding Rs. 25 crores, while lower-ranking officers will handle progressively smaller amounts, down to cases not exceeding Rs. 2 crores.
