<h1>India Updates Import Rules for X-ray and Radiation Equipment, Requires AERB Clearance and Compliance with Atomic Energy Act.</h1> The Government of India has amended the import policy conditions for certain items under Exim Code 9022 of Chapter 90 of the ITC (HS), 2017, Schedule - I. The revised policy requires that imports of computed tomography apparatus, X-ray generators and apparatus, portable X-ray machines, X-ray tubes, X-ray valves, radiation generation units, and radiation beam delivery units are free but must comply with the Atomic Energy Act, 1962, and obtain prior regulatory clearance from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB). Additionally, diagnostic medical X-ray equipment must conform to IS 7620 (Pt 1).
