The rates are categorized into six schedules: Schedule I imposes a 2.5% tax on specific goods like fish and dairy products; Schedule II sets a 6% tax on items such as live horses and frozen meat; Schedule III levies a 9% tax on goods like condensed milk and malt; Schedule IV imposes a 14% tax on items like molasses and chocolates; Schedule V sets a 1.5% tax on precious metals and jewelry; and Schedule VI imposes a 0.125% tax on unworked diamonds and stones.
