India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Steel Imports from China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Brazil, and Indonesia Until 2021.
The Government of India has imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of hot-rolled flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from China, Japan, Korea, Russia, Brazil, and Indonesia. This duty, effective for five years from August 8, 2016, aims to protect the domestic industry from material injury caused by dumping. The duty is calculated as the difference between a specified amount and the landed value of the goods, provided the latter is lower. The duty is payable in Indian currency and excludes certain stainless and zinc-coated steel products. The measure remains in force until December 15, 2021, unless amended earlier.
