of <h1>Customs section 157 widens project imports to cover expanded cold chain infrastructure and farm-level pre-cooling facilities</h1> Project Imports (Amendment) Regulations, 2016, issued under section 157 of the Customs Act, 1962, amend the Project Imports Regulations, 1986, with effect from 1 March 2016. The amendment modifies the description at serial number 3H in the table of eligible plants or projects. The earlier expression 'Cold storage, cold room (including for farm level pre-cooling)' is substituted with a broader category: 'Cold storage, cold room (including for farm level pre-cooling), cold chain including pre-cooling unit, packhouses, sorting and grading lines and ripening chambers,' thereby expanding the range of cold chain infrastructure covered under project imports.
