Initially approved in 2009 with a cost of 10.29 crore, the project cost was later increased to 24.77 crore and further to 69.15 crore. The project's duration has been extended for an additional two years, covering the financial years 2015-16 and 2016-17, following recommendations by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
