of <h1>Indian Government Amends Section 35AC: Increased Funding for Disha Projects and Rehabilitation in Gujarat</h1> The Indian government has amended a previous notification regarding eligible projects under Section 35AC of the Income-tax Act, 1961. Initially, the 'Disha Special School and Therapy Centre,' 'Disha Autism Centre,' and a community-based rehabilitation program by a charitable trust in Gujarat were approved with a project cost of 1.24 crore for three years, ending in the financial year 2010-11. This was extended twice, with the latest extension ending in 2016-17. The project cost is now increased to 1.24 crore plus a corpus fund of 2.50 crore, as recommended by the National Committee for Promotion of Social and Economic Welfare.
