<h1>India Designates New Customs Leadership; Principal Chief and Chief Commissioners Appointed with Nationwide Jurisdiction Effective October 15, 2014.</h1> The Government of India has amended notification No. 83/2004-Customs (N.T.) from June 30, 2004. Effective October 15, 2014, the Principal Director General of Revenue Intelligence, New Delhi, is designated as the Principal Chief Commissioner of Customs with jurisdiction across India. Additionally, the Director General of Inspection, Customs and Central Excise, New Delhi, is appointed as the Chief Commissioner of Customs, also with nationwide jurisdiction. These changes were issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs under the Ministry of Finance and will be published in the Gazette of India.
