<h1>Principal Director General of Revenue Intelligence now designated as Chief Commissioner of Customs across India under Customs Act.</h1> The Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, has issued Notification No. 134/2015 to amend Notification No. 83/2004-Customs (N.T.) dated June 30, 2004. This amendment, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, designates the Principal Director General of Revenue Intelligence, New Delhi, or the Director General of Revenue Intelligence as the Principal Chief Commissioner or Chief Commissioner of Customs. This position will have jurisdiction across the entire country. The notification was published in the Gazette of India and is part of ongoing updates to the customs regulations.
