of <h1>Central Government Approves Engineering SEZ in Satara, Maharashtra; Notified Under SEZ Act, 2005 and Customs Act, 1962.</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for engineering in Village Survadi and Nandal, Taluka Phaltan, District Satara, Maharashtra, proposed by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. This SEZ, covering 101.25 hectares, was notified on August 4, 2010, under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. An Approval Committee has been constituted to oversee the SEZ, comprising government officials and representatives from relevant departments. The SEZ is designated as an Inland Container Depot from the same date under the Customs Act, 1962.
