India Amends Foreign Trade Policy to Ban Trade of Nuclear-Related and Luxury Goods with North Korea under UN Resolutions
The Government of India has amended Paragraph 2.1.2 of the Foreign Trade Policy (2009-2014) to prohibit direct or indirect import and export of certain items to and from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The prohibited items include materials, equipment, goods, and technology that could contribute to DPRK's nuclear, ballistic missile, or weapons of mass destruction programs, as listed in specific UN and IAEA documents. Additionally, luxury goods specified in Annex IV to UN Security Council Resolution 2094 (2013) are also prohibited. This amendment updates the referenced documents and expands the prohibition list.
