      Summary: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, exercising powers under section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962, substitutes TABLE-1, TABLE-2 and TABLE-3 of Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) to fix specified tariff values in US dollars for edible oils, brass scrap, areca nuts, and for gold and silver (per 10 grams or per kilogram as applicable). The substituted tables distinguish forms and exclusions for precious metals. The amendment is effective from 16 October 2025.

      Amendment in Notification No. 12/2017-State Tax (Rate), dated the 30th June, 2017
      Summary: New entries exempt life and health insurance services provided to an insured who is not a group, and reinsurance of those services; the exemptions apply where the insured is an individual or an individual and family as defined in the contract. The notification excludes local delivery services provided by or through an Electronic Commerce Operator from a related entry, clarifies that a goods transport agency does not include such electronic commerce operators, defines "group" for the insurance exemptions, and defines "health insurance business" to include sickness, medical, hospital, travel and personal accident benefits. Effective 22 September 2025.

      Seeks to further amend Notification No 1135- F.T. dated 28.06.2017 relating to taxable supply of services to implement the recommendations of the 56th GST Council.
      Summary: Amendments to Notification No. 1135 F.T. revise tax rates for specified service items and impose conditional input tax credit restrictions, including limited credit where suppliers of transport services charge higher state tax than the prescribed lower rate; they reclassify and prescribe rates for transport, renting of goods carriage, postal/courier/local delivery, job work (manufacturing services on inputs owned by others), beauty and related services, and insert or amend definitions for goods transport agency, multimodal transporter, mode of transport, recognised sporting event and handicraft goods; certain explanatory provisions are deemed inserted from 1 April 2025.
