<h1>CSIR-NML-NALCO partnership to recycle red mud and recover rare earths via Damanjodi pilot plant framework agreed &D</h1> CSIR-NML and NALCO executed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on research and development for processing red mud and enabling recovery of rare earth elements from the industrial by-product. The agreement also provides for establishment of a red mud recycling pilot plant at Damanjodi, Odisha, to support pilot-scale validation of the proposed processing and recovery technologies. The operative effect is to create a formal framework for joint research activities and pilot-plant implementation aimed at resource recovery and recycling of red mud.
