State eyes first Indian EV plant as reforms, Public Trust Ordinance 2025 boost foreign investment and tech growth
A state government leader announced optimism that a US-based electric vehicle manufacturer will establish its first Indian EV manufacturing plant and related units in the state, following inauguration of the company's all-in-one motors centre in Gurugram. The government highlighted policy measures to enhance ease of doing business, including a special industrial leasing policy, strengthened local supply chains, and a dedicated Department of Foreign Cooperation to engage foreign investors. The leader noted amendments to outdated laws and notification of a Public Trust Ordinance, 2025, decriminalizing 164 provisions across 42 state Acts. The state reported substantial growth in exports, MSMEs, startups, and initiatives supporting AI, robotics, biotechnology, and deep-tech through new departments and hubs.
