<h1>Auditor urges broad AI, machine-learning use and nationwide rollout of integrated public finance IT systems to prevent fraud</h1> The Comptroller and Auditor General urged extensive deployment of AI and machine learning in forensic and remote audits after such tools uncovered numerous fraudulent beneficiary payments, and advocated wider rollout of integrated public finance IT systems-IFMIS, WAMIS, e-procurement, e-vouchers and land records-to strengthen transparency and accountability. He noted uneven maturity across states, highlighted priorities to digitise auditing for risk assessment and 100% coverage in database audits (GST/IT), and stressed expanding remote audits to all digitised departments and intensified audits of local bodies to curb misuse of public funds and improve fiscal governance.
