Asian currencies gained ground on renewed trade deal expectations. The domestic currency opened at 85.44 and reached a high of 85.34, compared to the previous close of 85.55. Market analysts expect the rupee to find support near 85.20 with resistance around 86.20-86.40. The dollar index fell 0.20% while Brent crude declined 0.38% to $68.54 per barrel.
