JAKARTA, Indonesia, May 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Bosowa Energy Group has announced a strategic partnership with BK LNG Solution (BKLS), marking a significant milestone in its long-term vision to modernize Indonesia's energy infrastructure and accelerate the shift toward cleaner energy alternatives.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Jakarta, launching a comprehensive collaboration across the liquefied natural gas (LNG) and broader energy infrastructure sectors.

Under the MOU, the two parties will cooperate closely in multiple areas, including LNG supply chain integration, development of floating storage units (FSUs), natural gas power generation, downstream energy applications, and small-scale LNG distribution via ISO tank containers.

During the signing ceremony, representatives from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the strategic roadmap and future direction of cooperation.

Muhammad Akram, Chief Operating Officer of Bosowa Energy Group, described the partnership as a transformative step in advancing the nation's energy transition agenda: "This collaboration not only enables us to diversify our energy portfolio with scalable LNG solutions, but also directly supports our mission to reduce emissions, enhance energy reliability in underserved regions, and contribute meaningfully to Indonesia's broader decarbonization goals." Junizwan, CEO of Bosowa Energasindo, emphasized the strategic value of the collaboration: "This collaboration with BK LNG Solution represents a key milestone for Bosowa Energasindo as we strengthen our commitment to Indonesia's energy transformation. By combining our domestic operational capabilities with BKLS's international LNG expertise, we are building a foundation for a more agile, efficient, and sustainable energy future." Henry Kim, President of BKLS, highlighted the company's commitment to supporting Indonesia's clean energy transition: "As a specialist in flexible LNG solutions with extensive experience across the region, we are confident in our ability to deliver reliable and efficient natural gas solutions tailored to Indonesia's unique needs, which we believe are essential for a resilient energy transition. This partnership not only initiates resource synergy but also demonstrates our shared commitment to Indonesia's clean energy goals." A key component of the partnership involves converting existing diesel-fired power plants (PLTD) on remote islands into cleaner, gas-fired power plants (PLTG) using LNG. This initiative is expected to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions while improving energy stability in underserved regions.

The partnership will also focus on the deployment of modular LNG regasification units and the development of localized micro-grid systems. These technologies are expected to play a critical role in enabling isolated areas across Indonesia to transition from diesel to natural gas—aligning with the nation's vision for equitable and sustainable energy access.

Initial pilot projects are scheduled to launch in Eastern Indonesia later this year, with plans to expand operations nationwide in the coming years.

This partnership not only aligns with Indonesia's national energy transition roadmap but also establishes a solid foundation for BKLS to deepen its regional presence and expand its global footprint. By joining forces, Bosowa and BKLS aim to accelerate project execution and contribute to sustainable energy development across Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asian region.
