The rupee opened at 86.26, hit an intraday high of 85.93, and a low of 86.30, ending the session at 86. The dollar index rose by 0.19%, while Brent crude fell by 0.29%. The BSE Sensex increased by 557.45 points, and the Nifty rose by 159.75 points. Foreign institutional investors bought equities worth Rs 3,239.14 crore.
