<h1>Railways to Introduce New-Design Trains to Boost Comfort, Reduce Overcrowding; 300 New Services Planned by 2025-26</h1> Mumbai's suburban railway network will soon receive new-design trains with enhanced features to improve passenger comfort and reduce overcrowding, according to the Railway Minister. Projects worth Rs 16,400 crore are underway on the Central and Western Railways. The interval between local trains will decrease from 180 to 120 seconds, allowing more frequent services. Around 300 additional local train services will be introduced, and nearly 300 km of new tracks will be laid. A record Rs 23,778 crore has been allocated for Maharashtra's railways in the 2025-26 Union Budget. A tripartite agreement ensures smooth project funding and completion.
