Acquisition of Meritor Inc., Enhancing Control Over Powertrain and Component Manufacturing Sectors.</h1> The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of sole control of Meritor, Inc. by Cummins Inc. Cummins, a U.S.-based corporation, specializes in the design, manufacture, distribution, and service of diesel, natural gas, electric, and hybrid powertrains and related components. Meritor, also a U.S.-based corporation, supplies axles, brakes, and other modules and components to original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket for commercial vehicles, transportation, and industrial sectors. A detailed order from the CCI is expected to follow.
