The 15^th Finance Commission headed by Chairman, Shri N.K. Singh will visit the State of Chhattisgarh from 23^rd July to 25^th July, 2019.

During its stay, the Commission is scheduled to have meetings with the representatives of the State’s Panchayati Raj Institutions and Rural Local Bodies, representatives of the Urban Local Bodies and the representatives of the Political Parties of the State.  The Commission will also have a meeting with the representatives of Trade and Industry bodies in the State.  A presentation will be given to the Commission by the State’s Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and DG (Police) on “Combating Naxal Extremism in Chhattisgarh”.  The Commission will also receive a presentation on the Naya Raipur Project (Atal Nagar) and will do a field visit to Naya Raipur.

On the last day of its visit, the Commission will have a detailed meeting with Shri BhupeshBaghel, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh alongwith his cabinet colleagues. There will be a presentation to the Finance Commission on the State’s finances followed by discussions.

 

Finance Commission visit to gather stakeholder inputs on state finances, security briefings, and urban development review. The Finance Commission will engage with Panchayati Raj institutions, urban local bodies, political parties, trade and industry representatives, and state officials to gather input on fiscal and development priorities. It will be briefed on combating Naxal extremism, review the Naya Raipur (Atal Nagar) project including a field visit, and meet the chief minister and cabinet for a presentation and discussion on the State's finances to inform the Commission's fiscal assessment.
