A High Level Committee (HLC) was constituted with the approval of the Finance Minister on 26^th November, 2014 to interact with trade and industry on tax laws, headed by Dr. Ashok Lahiri, former Chief Economic Advisor (CEA), Ministry of Finance.

The Committee is presently functioning from Suite No. 215, The Janpath Hotel, Janpath Road, Opp. BSNL Building, New Delhi-110001.

The Committee invites various entities/associations/federations/any other stakeholders representing the trade and industry to present their views/suggestions in order to ascertain areas where clarity in tax laws is required.

The working hours of the Committee are 9.00 am to 5.30 pm on any working day.

Clarity in tax laws: High-level committee invites industry stakeholders to present views to guide regulatory clarification. A High Level Committee was established to engage trade and industry to obtain stakeholder views and suggestions aimed at achieving clarity in tax laws; it invites entities, associations and other stakeholders to request interactions and submit representations via designated email or postal channels and operates during published working hours to facilitate participation.
