The Reserve Bank of India’s Reference Rate for the US dollar is Rs. 58.8610 and the Reference Rate for Euro is Rs. 80.7166 on May 16, 2014. The corresponding rates for the previous day (May 15, 2014) were Rs. 59.4745 and Rs. 81.5526 respectively. Based on the Reference Rate for the US dollar and the middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of GBP and JPY against the Rupee are given below:

The Reserve Bank of India announced its daily reference rates for the US dollar and the Euro, noting the previous day's rates. Using the US dollar reference rate with middle cross-currency quotes, the RBI derives exchange rates for other currencies including the British pound and the Japanese yen. The release further states that the SDR Rupee rate will be based on the published reference rate.
