The government has extended the anti-dumping duty on imports of black toner in powder form originating from or exported by China, Malaysia, and Taiwan for five years. The designated authority found continued dumping of these goods at dumped prices causing injury to the domestic industry, with a likelihood of continued dumping and injury if duties ceased. The duty rates vary by country of origin, exporter, and producer, and exclude color toner, MICR toner, OEM-use toner, toner in cartridges, and liquid toner. The duty is payable in Indian currency and calculated based on the exchange rate on the bill of entry date. This measure supersedes the previous notification from 2021 and aims to prevent injury to the domestic industry by curbing dumped imports.
