Regulator streamlines digital accessibility rules, adds investor rights, audit duties, and SCORES complaint process for all REs
Securities regulator issues clarifications on prior digital accessibility circulars applicable to all regulated entities (REs) including exchanges, depositories, intermediaries and market institutions. Investors' right to digital accessibility will be incorporated into applicable Investor Charters. Instead of appointing accessibility auditors by 14 December 2025, REs must submit, by 31 March 2026, platform-wise readiness and compliance status to specified authorities and, where applicable, to a designated SEBI email, in the prescribed format. REs must conduct periodic accessibility audits of all investor-facing digital platforms using certified accessibility professionals. Investors may lodge accessibility-related complaints on SCORES under the 'Accessibility' category, which REs must resolve to close complaints.
