India's MoUs for Pulses: Import Plans with Myanmar, Malawi, Mozambique for 2021-2026 via Select Ports.
The circular outlines the implementation of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between India and Myanmar, Malawi, and Mozambique for importing specific quantities of pulses over five years (2021-2026). India will import 2,50,000 MT of urad and 1,00,000 MT of tur from Myanmar, 50,000 MT of pigeon peas from Malawi, and 2,00,000 MT of pigeon peas from Mozambique annually. Imports are restricted to five Indian ports and require a Certificate of Origin. Indian importers must register and upload the certificate through the DGFT website. These measures aim to streamline import procedures under the MoUs.
