This requirement is in accordance with guidelines under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, and failure to comply may result in the rebate being deemed invalid. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) emphasizes the necessity for exporting firms to ensure that their Authorized Dealer (AD) banks complete this process to avoid potential actions by Regional Authorities for any erroneous or excess payments.
