New Rule 2.79G: Exporters Must Apply for GAEC via SCOMET, Follow Strict Compliance, and Maintain Records for 5 Years.
Paragraph 2.79G has been added to the Handbook of Procedures of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20, establishing the procedure for the General Authorisation for Export of Chemicals and related equipment (GAEC). Exporters must apply for GAEC through the online SCOMET portal, providing detailed item descriptions and supply chain information. Compliance includes allowing inspections, adhering to declared end-uses, and notifying authorities of exports. Exporters must maintain records for five years and report quarterly. GAEC is valid for five years but may be revoked for non-compliance. It will not be issued for items related to weapons of mass destruction or to embargoed countries.
