DGFT Amends Handbook: Revalidation of Export Authorizations Now by Headquarters, Not Regional Authority, Effective Immediately.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has amended Paragraph 2.20(b) of the Handbook of Procedures for the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020. The amendment allows the revalidation of Export Authorizations, including for SCOMET items, to be processed by the DGFT headquarters instead of the Regional Authority. Revalidations can be granted on merits for up to six months at a time, with a maximum extension of 12 months. This change is effective immediately and applies to both Non-SCOMET and SCOMET items, excluding cases specified in Paragraph 2.16(b) of the Handbook.
