of <h1>Marble Importers from 2008-09 Allowed 25% Extra Due to 2009-10 Policy Delays; Effective April 1, 2009.</h1> The Directorate General of Foreign Trade issued guidelines allowing importers of rough marble blocks and slabs, who were granted licenses for 2008-09, to import an additional 25% of their licensed quantity. This measure addresses potential business disruptions due to delays in the 2009-10 import policy, attributed to parliamentary elections. License holders can apply for this increase, which is subject to existing import conditions, and imports can commence after April 1, 2009. The directive has received approval from the competent authority and requires an endorsement on the license by the relevant authority.
