of <h1>Cochin Customs Caps Console Agent Fees: Max Charges Set for Containers, Strict Penalties for Overcharging.</h1> The Customs Office in Cochin has issued guidelines to standardize charges levied by Console Agents and Freight Forwarders, following complaints of overcharging. Maximum charges for handling 20-foot and 40-foot containers are set at Rs. 27,800 and Rs. 36,600, respectively, with per CBM charges of Rs. 1,100 and Rs. 700. Additional documentation fees are capped at Rs. 2,000 per importer. No extra charges should be imposed if freight is fully paid as CIF at the load port unless specified in the Master Bill of Lading. Overcharging complaints will be strictly investigated, and repeat offenders may face permanent removal from the EDI system.
