Commodity Transaction Tax (CTT)

Commodity Transaction Tax exemption expanded: additional agricultural commodities now exempt, altering the taxable scope for commodity trades. With effect from 10/02/2015, thirty nine additional items were added to the list of agricultural commodities exempt from Commodity Transaction Tax, one item was removed, and a total of sixty one agricultural commodities are now treated as exempt from CTT, thereby narrowing the taxable scope of commodity transactions by reference to the amended commodity classification. Please note the below Commodities-39 nos. have addition covered into Agricultural Commodities w.e.f. 10/02/2015, resulting into Exempt from Commodity Transaction Tax (CTT). Also one commodity- Cotton seed oilcake/ KapasiaKhali has been removed from this list w.e.f. 10/02/2015. Now total 61 agricultural commodities are covered into agricultural commodities i.e. exempt from CTT:
