It formally establishes the short title 'Income-tax Welfare Fund Rules, 2007' and provides that these rules regulate the running and maintenance of the Fund. The provision clarifies that the Fund is created for the welfare of officers and staff of the Income-tax Department and that its benefits extend to all such officials, regardless of their place of posting or location of work.
