Vice Chairman acting as Chairman: assumes or discharges the Chairman's duties during vacancy or temporary incapacity. Section 22BB authorises the Vice Chairman, or a Vice Chairman authorised by Central Government notification, to act as Chairman during a vacancy until a new Chairman assumes office, and to discharge the Chairman's functions during temporary inability owing to absence, illness or other cause, until the Chairman resumes duties.
