of <h1>Central Government Can Appoint Valuation Officers Under Wealth Tax Act 1957, Supported by Overseers, Surveyors, Assessors</h1> The Central Government has the authority to appoint Valuation Officers under the Wealth Tax Act, 1957. Additionally, a wealth-tax authority can appoint overseers, surveyors, and assessors as needed to support the Valuation Officers, in accordance with the rules and orders governing public service conditions. This provision was introduced by the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1972, effective from November 15, 1972.
