Additionally, a wealth-tax authority can appoint overseers, surveyors, and assessors as needed to support the Valuation Officers, in accordance with the rules and orders governing public service conditions. This provision was introduced by the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1972, effective from November 15, 1972.
