Penalty for regulatory contravention: importers or exporters face prescribed penalties under customs law and further enforcement actions. Importers or exporters who contravene these regulations or abet contraventions are liable to the penalty specified in clause (ii) of sub section (2) of section 158 of the Act, without prejudice to any other action that may be taken under the Act, its rules or regulations, or under any other law for the time being in force.
