Resignation of parliamentary members must be written and accepted, and may be refused if not voluntary after inquiry. Article 101(3) now requires resignation to be by writing addressed to the Chairman or the Speaker and accepted by them; a proviso empowers the Chairman or the Speaker, after such inquiry as he thinks fit and on information received or otherwise, to refuse acceptance if satisfied the resignation is not voluntary or genuine.
