Territorial inclusion of Tripura expands constitutional tribal-area references to include Tripura alongside Meghalaya by amendment. The amendment substitutes 'Meghalaya' with 'Meghalaya and Tripura' in clauses (1) and (2) of Article 244, thus extending the Article's tribal-area references to include Tripura; the substitution takes effect from the first day of April 1985.
