of <h1>Constitution (56th Amendment) Act, 1987: Article 371-I Establishes Minimum of 30 Members for Goa's Legislative Assembly</h1> The Constitution (56th Amendment) Act, 1987 inserts Article 371-I into the Constitution, creating a special provision for the State of Goa. This article establishes that notwithstanding any other constitutional provisions, the Legislative Assembly of Goa shall consist of not less than thirty members. The amendment came into force on May 30, 1987, as notified through S.O. 517(E) dated May 26, 1987.
