Constitutional Amendment Expands Tribunals' Jurisdiction to Include Rent Control and Landlord-Tenant Disputes Under Article 323-B
The Constitution (75th Amendment) Act, 1993 modifies Article 323-B by inserting a new sub-clause (h) concerning 'rent, its regulation and control and tenancy issues including the right, title and interest of landlords and tenants.' The amendment reletters existing sub-clauses (h) and (i) as (i) and (j) respectively, with corresponding reference updates in the relettered sub-clauses. This amendment came into force on May 15, 1994, expanding the constitutional provisions regarding administrative tribunals to include matters related to rent control and tenancy disputes.
