          <h1>Exclusion of Scheduled Castes reservation: constitutional amendment removes application of the local reservation provision to Arunachal Pradesh.</h1> The Constitution (Eighty-third Amendment) Act inserts clause (3-A) into Article 243-M to provide that the reservation requirement for Scheduled Castes under Article 243-D shall not apply to the State of Arunachal Pradesh, thereby creating a state-specific exclusion from the local government reservation provision for Scheduled Castes.
