The amendment changed the marginal heading to 'National Commission for Scheduled Castes' and revised clauses (1) and (2) to establish a Commission specifically for Scheduled Castes, known as the National Commission for Scheduled Castes. The Commission is to include a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, and three other Members, with their service conditions and tenure determined by the President. Additionally, the words 'and Scheduled Tribes' were removed from clauses (5), (9), and (10).
