It states that individuals who have entered into or contracted a marriage with someone who has a living spouse, or who themselves have a living spouse and have married another person, are ineligible for the position. However, the Central Government may grant an exemption if the marriage is permissible under the applicable personal law of the individuals involved and if other justifiable grounds exist.
