Co-option of committee members permits discretionary inclusion of eminent persons to advise on regulatory proposals. The Committee may, at its discretion, co-opt persons of eminence or erudition as temporary members for consideration of particular proposals or classes of proposals, limited to not exceeding two such persons at a time, to provide valuable views for the Committee's deliberations.
